Windows Xp or Windows Experience is the predecessor of Windows 7, it's said that this operating system is the foundation of Windows 7. Windows Xp is the most longer use an operating system of Windows before the Windows 7 goes out to the market and use by the computer users in different country side. Many said that this operating system is absolute, but millennial out there who studies, computer or other maker of machines might be use the operating system platform to build their project. So let may share my knowledge and experience about this operating system installation.
NOTE:
If you downgrade your latest computer with this old operating system you may suffer errors during and after installation because of the lack driver support of the windows xp. Or you have no drivers you can download in different websites hardware manufacturers.
HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP USING CD/DVD INSTALLER
1. Prepare your computer with the CD/DVD ROM drive installed in your computer. Then put your Windows Xp Installer CD in DVD Drive.
ENTER THE CMOS/BIOS INTERFACE
2. Then power up your computer, when POST displayed right in your screen, press the BIOS Setup key, like "DEL" or "F2" key.
3. When the BIOS setup key is correct setup will bring you in BIOS/CMOS Setup utility window. In windows xp installation, you have only 2 important features you need to know and assure and setup correctly. Only the Main BIOS or the Standard CMOS Setup and Boot Sequence.
4. Be sure to look the time and date setup, if it's correctly set up as necessary. And be sure that the two drives the HDD and CD/DVD is correctly detected by the BIOS settings. Like what you see in the image above here.
5. Now, after the main menu, click the Advance setup, check the 1st boot whether the CD/DVD is set up to 1st boot. If not, use the +/- key to change the position of the boot drive. Like what you see in the image above here. The TSSTcorp CDDVD is my drives as 1st boot.
6. Then after the settings you can now save your BIOS setup by pressing the F10 key and press enter as ok to save the BIOS setup and exit the BIOS interface.
LOAD STARTUP FILES FROM CD/DVD DRIVES
7. Now prepare for the bootstrap of Windows installer from the DVD as your first boot. To load this startup surely you need to press the space bar until it will display the notification. Check the image above here.
8. Wait until windows setup fully propagated. In this time system are initializing the system and load the system drivers.
9. When prompted here, press Enter key.
10. On the next windows, its a license agreement, just press "F8" to accept it.
HOW TO DELETE OLD PARTITION
Note: Before to proceeds in this task, be sure that all your important files on your computer drives was backup to external drives. Because this part of the installation is very dangerous to your files. All your files here will totally erase.
11. Deleting an old partition is easy all you need is to follow the instruction above the partition. Like in the image above here select the drive c: and press the D key.
12. In next page just press the enter key of your keyboard.
13. Then by following the instruction press the L key.
14. Now, as you see the image the drive c: was deleted. Just repeat the procedure here to delete another drive or partition.
HOW TO CREATE PARTITION IN UNPARTITION SPACE OF YOUR DRIVE.
15. By following the instruction of the above image, just press C key to create the partition.
17. Now you see on your screen there is now the 1st partition which is the drive c: now select the unpartition space. Then press C key.
18. Then to proceed, do not change the remaining capacity just press Enter key to create the second partition. When done, proceed to the next step which is the formatting and copying windows file to the HDD partitions. Remember the Operating system must be installed in drive c:
HOW TO FORMAT DRIVE PARTITION
19. Select the drive c: partition, use the arrow keys to select it and press Enter key.
20. On the next Window just select the Filling System, you can select either the NTFS (New Technology Filling System) or FAT (File Allocation Table) If your processor supports the 64 Bit OS just select this NTFS. Then to proceed, press Enter key.
21. On the next screen the windows installation will start the formatting of the partition. Wait until it will finish with 100 percent.
COPYING WINDOWS FILES FROM CD/DVD DRIVE INSTALLER TO HARD DRIVE PARTITION.
22. After the formatting the Windows Installation will copy the windows files. Just wait until it will finish. The Progressive indicator bar should be 100 percent.
23. The system installation will restart the system if the copying of windows files will finish.
WINDOWS SETUP
24. After restart the Windows installation will start the setup process of windows files. Wait until it will finish.
25. When prompted here just use your mouse and click the next button.
26. Write the name of the computer or company name in the bar of Name field including the organization as necessary.
27. Then input the product key of your Windows Xp OS. Then press Enter key when finished.
28. Then proceed by clicking the next button using your mouse.
29. In this part just press Enter key or click the next button. Do not change the date and time here, you can setup the correct date and time when windows finish the installation.
30. Another 32 minutes to wait until it will finish the installation.
31. When system prompted in this window just select the Typical Settings option, then click the next button to proceed.
32. In this part Workgroup is the use of networks of computers. If your computer use for the networks and you know the name of the group of your computer within your networks just replace the default name inside the bar called "WORKGROUP".
33. You need to wait until it will finish, you have minutes to go before the system will restart. In this part sometimes your screen will flicker because of some of the system drivers loaded during the installation process.
34. POST display after it will restart. Just wait until it will go back to the system installation wizard.
35. After the Windows Logo display this pop up window will display, click ok or press enter key.
36. Press Enter key to proceed.
37. Click next button to proceed.
38. Then select Option "Not Right Now".
39. Then click the button Skip lower down right side portion of your screen.
40. Then select option "No Not This Time". Then click Next button.
41. Windows now ask for the standard administrator account to load up the Desktop screen. Just type the administrator name of your computer.
42. Here in this two screen the "Thanks You" and welcome message will display. Wait until the desktop screen will display.
43. When you see this Desktop screen your Windows Xp installation is finished. You can proceed now the installation of the device drivers of your computer.
