What Is Device Manager And How To Open It Using Windows 10

 The Device Manager of Windows 10 is a control panel window of Microsoft Operating System. It is used to control and view the different devices of computers, both the laptop or other computer machines that using the windows operating system. It's a control panel for the user to monitor the condition of a piece of hardware attached to the computer and view the device driver software installed after a computer was assembled. When a piece of hardware is malfunctioning, the device driver software indicates by highlighting it so that the user will notify what hardware needs attention or repair. 

SOME FUNCTIONS OF A DEVICE MANAGER
  1. Display device driver software information like the model and versions.
  2. Enable and disable function. The user can enable and disable hardware functions.
  3. Device driver updates, user can update the device driver software.
  4. Uninstall device driver software.
  5. Scan and check any device driver changes function.
  6. Give device property view. Like the details, events, and resources of a hardware.

HOW TO OPEN THE DEVICE MANAGER

1. Using the This PC Icon of your computer desktop.

2. USING THE CORTANA SEARCH BAR 

Click Device Manager
Click the Start button at the bottom portion left side of the Taskbar of your desktop.

3. USING THE COMMAND MODE OF YOUR COMPUTER

Search Bar- Type CMD
Click the start button of your desktop, then type CMD using the Cortana search bar then press enter key.

Two Important BIOS Setup Menu To Install Windows OS On HP Computer

Branded Computer like HP Compaq model and other new model of HP computer is different from the clone computer. There BIOS type is different from the clone computer like the American Megatrents. There firmware is different which installed in the CMOS microchip of the motherboard. So whenever you wanted to install the Windows operating system on HP computers. You need to know how to setup the BIOS system so that it will boot to an installation drive. Where the Windows Operating System is stored and will fire up for the installation.

NOTE:

You can use either USB flash drive boot tool to install your operating system like the Windows 7 or 10 or use the CD ROM disk.



HOW TO SETUP BIOS SYSTEM IN EASY WAY

  1. Power up your computer, then during POST display, press F10 key to enter the BIOS settings.

2. Then select your language, then press enter key.

3. BIOS utility interface, navigate to Storage menu, use arrow key.

4. Under the Storage menu, select Device Configuration, this only to check whether the hard disk drive is detected including the CD-ROM or DVD. Press escape key to return to main menu.

5. Then navigate to Boot Order under the Storage menu, then use arrow keys to select the drive you want to use as first boot device. The example you need to first boot the CD-ROM or any USB drive boot tools. Press F10 to accept the settings.

6. Press F10 key, then select Save Changes and Exit. The computer now will start to POST and use spacebar to firing up your windows installation of HP computer.

How To Fix Hard Disk Drive Failure Using Ontrack Disk Manager

Hard Disk Failure like the error code 0x80070057 is a failure during the installation of the Windows Operating system. This will happen during the formatting of the drive, but you can delete and create the partition even this error is exist during the formatting. This may be a cause of a drive delay during writing of the disk or a system driver during the formatting can't be loaded. In this case one of the remedy to perform a trial and error to fix this error is to use a disk manager to recover from the error. One of the software I use is the Ontrack Disk Manager

HOW TO USE THE ONTRACK DISK MANAGER

NOTE:

Using this Disk Manager, if you can access the files of HDD, just backup the important files to proceed this task. This may cause to delete all your important files that can cause to unrecoverable data in the future.


A: RUN FIRST THE BIOS SETUP

The Ontract Disk Manager I incorporate all my HDD Tools in one CD ROM. So in order to run this HDD tools I need to setup the BIOS to set the Boot Order to CD/DVD Drive.

1. Power up your computer, then insert the Ontract Disk Manager in your CD ROM drive.

Press F10 to setup BIOS system
2. In the image above I'm using the Hp Computer, press F10 to run the BIOS setup. If you're using a clone computer, commonly this computer uses "Delete or F2"  key.

3. Select the language you are using, in my part I'm using English.

4. Then BIOS Interface Window, open the Storage menu.

In order to know the HDD is detected of BIOS
5. Open Device Configuration, check whether this HDD you need to repair is detected in the BIOS.

Select boot order to select CD-ROM drive

6. Then open the Boot Order to set the first boot drive.

7. Use the cursor key of your keyboard to select the ATAPI CD-ROM drive. Press F10 to accept settings. Note here: I'm using Hp Computer, if you're computer using the BIOS type called American Megatrends or other bios type, pay attention of the menu called boot sequence, drive priority to setup the Boot Order of your drive to CD/DVD.

8. Press Enter key to save your BIOS setup.

B: RUN THE ONTRACK DISK MANAGER USING THE CDROM DRIVE

After saving your BIOS you're computer now will boot to the CDROM drive to load the startup file s of my HDD tools.

1. Select the Start Hiren's Boot CD.

2. Then select Hard Disk Tools.

Select Ontrack Disk Manager On the List

3. Then select Ontrack Disk Manager 9.57.

Proceed by Selecting "YES"

4. System will halt in this popup window, just use the arrow keys to select "YES".

 5. Open Easy Disk Installation.

 6. Then use enter key to select "YES"

Proceed "Yes" for this notification

 7. Press Enter Key to proceed "YES".

Use ALT then press C to proceed

8. Use ALT key then press C to proceed.

 9. System give a warning before to proceed, use arrow key to select "YES".

Formatting and Fixing Drive
10. The system will start formatting your drive, you need to wait several minutes until it will finish the formatting.

11. You you see this image, the fixing and formatting of your drive is finish. And your drive is ready for the installation of operating system.

TIPS! 

If you have no software like the Ontrack Disk Manager, you can use either the HDAT2, this is also a good software to fix any problem of sector failure of HDD.

How To Create Partition Using Windows 10

If you need a new partition of your drive or to your new addition drive you need to setup it first before it will become a drive that you can use to store your data. Assuming that you have a new drive in your computer drive bay and you connect it to your SATA connector on your motherboard. But you don't see it after detecting by the Windows 10 operating system. In this case you need to setup it using the Disk Management before you can use it or enabled in the Windows 10.


NOTE:

To create a partition, it is necessary to limit your drive into 2 partition in every 1 Hard Disk Drive.

HOW TO CREATE A NEW PARTITION USING WINDOWS 10

1. Open your computer and in your computer desktop right click in This PC icon.

2. The Computer Management interface will display, click on the Disk Management in the left panel of windows. When there are popup windows, telling you to select option between MBR and GPT then just select MBR or Master Boot Record.

3. Right click of the partition that you can read it UNALLOCATED then click New Sample Volume.

4. Then proceed by clicking the NEXT button at the bottom position of the windows wizard.

5. Then proceed to click next, if you want to create a two partition in one Hard Disk Drive, just divide the current partition size using the highlighted figures of the windows wizard. And the remaining figures are the second partition size or use the percentage to divide the partition. Check the image above here.

6. And in this windows just select your drive letter, this will display in your list of drive icons in your Desktop.

7. Then proceed by clicking the next button below of windows wizard.

8. Then click FINISH, wait until the system create the new partition and formatted it according to its filling system like the NTFS.

9. When you see the New Volume, the drive has now been ready and you can start to use it as your computer storage. You can rename the new volume into your own created name. Just open the This PC icon and right click the new volume and click rename.

How To Delete Partition or Drives Using Windows 10

Deleting windows partition or drives is to free up space of your computer. This may contribute to more space and to prepare your computer for a new partition and another new program to install. This will contribute also of a good performance and condition of your computer. However, this is dangerous of your data if you have an information data inside of that drive. So you need to backup first before to continue deleting a partition or a drive. Remember data is so precious, so don't proceed with deleting a drive that will cause to totally delete all your important files.

Note:

 You can't delete a partition of a drive of that partition is in use of your computer. Example the drive c: which is the stationary drive of the operating system. If you want to delete this partition you need to use the windows installation disk



HOW TO DELETE A PARTITION USING WINDOWS 10

1. Open your computer and in desktop right click in this PC icon then click manage.

3. Then right click of the drive or partition you wanted to delete, example in my image above here I right the Drive G., then proceed by clicking the command delete volume.

3. A popup window will display a warning information, just proceed by clicking the YES button. Wait a few minutes to finish deleting your partition.

4. After deletion, when you see an unallocated partition you deleted now the partition. Your drive now is ready to create a new partition.
